Although haemorrhoidectomy (simple excision) is one of the most effective surgical treatments available for high grade haemorrhoids it is still plagued by severe postoperative pain and complications such as infection, bleeding, urinary retention & chronic fissure. As most people presenting with this problem are young professionals, rapid recovery and return to work is of outmost importance economically. Other treatment options such as Doppler-guided haemorrhoid artery ligation and stapled haemorrhoidpexy, have similar issues with pain and maybe associated with complications and high recurrence rate. this 980nm 1470nm diode laser is a new technique called Laser haemorrhoidplasty, whereby a laser fibre is used to shrink the haemorrhoid without injuring the inner lining of the anal canal and thus resulting in minimal postoperative pain.t.

How Is Recovery?
The lack of traditional incisions and sutures makes recovery after laser hemorrhoidectomy far easier than traditional methods. While patients are advised not to perform any strenuous activity for a minimum of two weeks after the procedure, most patients can return to normal daily activities in a few days.

What Are The Risks?
Some people experience numbness around the anal region after this procedure. This can persist for a few weeks.
